The Arusha National Park covers an area of 137 square kilometres and was established in 1960. It has three distinct zones that contribute park variety and beauty, Ngurdoto Crater, the Momella lakes and Mount Meru. The vegetation and wildlife found in the park are determined by altitude and geography of the different areas.

We will pick you up from your hotel after breakfast. It takes about 40 minutes from Arusha to the Ngongongare Gate – Arusha NP. The game drives are in the eastern part of the park.

At first, we drive through dense forest to the Mikindu Viewpoint. From the Mikundu Point you will have a splendid view into the Ngurdoto Crater and to Mount Kilimanjaro.

We continue the game drive to the Momella Lakes where we will have a picnic. We're passing the 'Little Serengeti' and having a view to the Hippo pool.

Arrived at Momella viewpoint, we take a few steps on the shore of Lake Momella Ndogo before we enjoy the lunch box.

Then optional we will walk with a ranger to the Tululusia Falls. Along the way, the ranger explains various medicinal plants and their use.

On the way back from the Tululusia Falls close to the Momella Gate the ranger will take you to a buffalo meadow where these formidable giants can be observed at arm’s length.

When enough time remains we can make a short side trip to the Hatari Lodge which is inside the park.

After a short break on the terrace of the Hatari Lodge we drive back to Arusha.
